Copenhagen
For the first time in recent years, Copenhagen has topped the ranking of the world’s best cities to live in, displacing Vienna, which had held the leadership since 2022. The Danish capital received the maximum 100 points for stability, education, and infrastructure, as well as high scores for healthcare and the environment. This result is no coincidence, but rather a reflection of a well-thought-out urban policy focused on sustainable development, safety, and comfort.
Vienna
Vienna, which moved down to second place, remains an undisputed symbol of urban well-being. With maximum scores for healthcare, education, and infrastructure, the Austrian capital continues to set standards for quality of life. Its high overall result of 97.1 points confirms the resilience and thoughtful design of its urban environment. The only factor influencing its shift in the ranking was the environmental indicator, at 93.5 points.
Zurich
Third place in the ranking goes to Zurich. The Swiss financial capital scored 97.1 points, receiving the highest marks for healthcare, education, infrastructure, and public stability. Its environmental component, scoring 95.8 points, stands out in particular as one of the highest among all participants in the ranking. Thanks to its environmental policy and harmonious urban planning, Zurich remains a benchmark for those who value sustainability, cleanliness, and well-designed urban spaces.
Melbourne
Melbourne is the only non-European city among the top five, taking fourth place with a score of 96.2 points. This Australian metropolis consistently features in global quality-of-life rankings thanks to its high level of safety, accessible healthcare, strong educational base, and developed infrastructure. This year, it received maximum scores in most key parameters, falling slightly short only in the environmental index and cultural vibrancy.
Geneva
Fifth place was taken by Geneva—the second Swiss city in the top five of the ranking. With a score of 96.1 points, it has once again confirmed its status as one of the most comfortable and prosperous cities in the world. Geneva received maximum scores for healthcare, education, infrastructure, and stability. Its well-developed public transport system and thoughtful urban planning deserve special mention, making everyday life here calm, convenient, and consistently high-quality.
