In November 2025, Sweden's industrial production experienced a year-on-year increase of 4.2%, reflecting a slowdown from the 5.9% rise observed in October. Growth in manufacturing dipped to a six-month low of 3.4%, compared to 5.4% the previous month, impacted particularly by reduced output in sectors such as coke and refined petroleum products, which fell by 27.8% after a 21.8% decline, basic metals which decreased by 9%, down from 4.6%, and the food products, beverage, and tobacco industry, which saw a smaller contraction of 1.7%, compared to a previous 3.1% drop. Conversely, the mining and quarrying sector experienced a significant boost, with activity escalating by 26.7%, a rate not seen in five months, building on a 13.7% increase in October. This surge was primarily fueled by a marked rise in metal ores output, which jumped by 28.5% from 15.3%, as well as improvements in other mines and quarries, along with enhanced activities in service companies supporting mining operations, which grew by 9.8% versus 3.4%. On a seasonally adjusted monthly basis, overall industrial output saw a slight decline of 0.1% in November, marking the second consecutive month of downturn following a significant 6.8% decrease in the previous period.
