In November 2025, North Macedonia's trade deficit decreased to $295 million, down from $303 million in the same month the previous year. This improvement occurred as exports surged by 14.8% year-on-year, reaching $798 million, whereas imports grew at a slower rate of 9.5%, totaling $1,093 million. Over the period from January to November, the nation's trade deficit amounted to $3,503 million. Imports rose by 7.7% from the previous year, reaching $11,837 million, largely driven by an increase in purchases of goods categorized by material (up 9.9%), chemical and related products (up 7.8%), and mineral fuels, lubricants, and related products (up 1.7%). Concurrently, exports saw a 6.4% rise, reaching $8,333 million, fueled mainly by stronger sales in machinery and transport equipment (up 15.3%), miscellaneous finished goods (up 2.8%), and food and live animals (up 7.9%). Nevertheless, there was a decline in the exports of chemical and related products, which fell by 2%.
