This increase marked a recovery from a two-day downturn, rallying from its lowest point since August 11. The upturn was bolstered by favorable domestic economic indicators. Monday's data revealed a slight reduction in August's inflation rates alongside a July trade surplus that surpassed market predictions. Additionally, the manufacturing sector showed growth for the first time in five months. Investor sentiment was also buoyed by speculations of possible interest rate cuts by the Federal Reserve later this month. Nonetheless, the upward momentum was somewhat restrained by ongoing political tensions, highlighted by today's protests in the capital over inequality and escalating living costs. Investor caution persisted concerning US trade policies, following a decision by a US federal appeals court deeming most of former President Trump's global tariffs illegal. Despite these concerns, all sectors experienced gains, with the raw materials sector leading the charge. Early leaders in this rally included Gudang Garam, rising by 2.7%, United Tractors up by 2.2%, Bank BNI advancing by 1.6%, and BRI increasing by 1.3%.
