In December 2025, Lithuania saw a reduction in its annual inflation rate, which decreased to 3.4% from November's 4.3%, hitting the lowest point since May. This change reflects a slowdown in the price increase for several categories: food and non-alcoholic beverages decreased from 4.3% to 4.1%, housing and utilities dropped from 1.4% to 0.5%, health shifted down to 3.9% from 4.1%, transport fell to 0.7% from 2.7%, recreation and culture decreased to 5.7% from 5.9%, and restaurants and hotels declined from 6.2% to 6.1%. Conversely, there was a more rapid rise in prices for alcoholic beverages and tobacco, increasing to 8.0% from 7.8%, clothing and footwear saw a climb to 0.7% from 0.2%, communication edged up to 3.5% from 3.4%, education moved slightly up to 3.8% from 3.7%, and miscellaneous goods and services increased to 4.8% from 4.0%. Prices remained unchanged for furnishings, household equipment, and routine household maintenance at 1.0%. On a monthly basis, consumer prices experienced a slight decline of 0.1% in December, reversing the previous month's eight-month peak of a 0.4% increase.
