In July 2025, Finland experienced a notable trade surplus of €1.3 billion, marking a turnaround from the €0.1 billion deficit reported in the same month the previous year, as per preliminary figures. Export values soared by 19.5% from the previous year, reaching €7.5 billion. This growth was primarily fueled by a significant 51.5% increase in exports to non-EU nations, while exports to EU countries declined by 7.3%. Among Finland's main trading partners, exports saw the most substantial rise to the United States, with an impressive 192% increase, followed by Estonia, up by 19.9%, the United Kingdom at 9.1% growth, and France with a 1.5% rise. Conversely, imports diminished by 3.4%, totaling €6.2 billion, due in part to decreased imports from both EU countries, down by 5.2%, and from non-EU countries, down by 0.9%. The most considerable reductions in imports were noted from Germany, which saw an 8.3% drop, Sweden at 3.2%, the Netherlands at 11.2%, and Norway at 6.4%.
