In July 2025, Hungary's industrial production experienced a 1% decline compared to the same month the previous year, according to preliminary estimates. This represents a moderation from the 4.9% decrease observed in June, marking the fourth consecutive month of contraction in industrial activity. However, the decline was the mildest in this series, primarily due to an uptick in the production of vehicles, food, beverages, tobacco products, and computer, electronic, and optical products. Conversely, there was a reduction in the output of electrical equipment. On a seasonally adjusted monthly comparison, industrial production increased by 2% in July, marking the highest rise since October 2024 and a recovery from the 1.2% decrease seen in the previous month. Over the first seven months of the year, industrial output was down by 3.5% compared to the same period in the previous year.
