2025.09.0115:27:27UTC+00Colombia’s PMI Hits 3-Year High

The Davivienda Colombia Manufacturing Purchasing Managers' Index increased to 55.3 in August 2025, marking five continuous months of growth. This represents the most significant improvement in operating conditions since June 2022. This positive trend was fueled by accelerated growth in new orders, output, employment, and purchasing activities. The influx of new business surged at the fastest rate in over a year and a half, encouraging companies to boost production at the highest rate observed in more than three years. Firms also intensified their input purchasing and hiring efforts, even as backlogs continued to mount. Meanwhile, cost pressures eased further, with input prices rising at their slowest rate in 15 months, resulting in the first decline in selling prices in more than a year. Vendor performance worsened, as delivery times lengthened for the 12th consecutive month. Business confidence remained robust, bolstered by new clients, product launches, and expansion plans, although the level of optimism slightly decreased from the peak observed in July.
