In November 2025, Lithuania's trade deficit expanded to €0.510 billion, compared to €0.445 billion in the same month of the previous year. This growth occurred as the pace of imports outstripped that of exports. Specifically, imports saw a year-on-year increase of 3.1%, reaching €3.634 billion. This surge was mainly attributed to higher purchases of mineral fuels and oils, which rose by 7.6%, and machinery and mechanical equipment and their components, which increased by 7.3%. Conversely, exports experienced a more modest rise of 1.4%, amounting to €3.123 billion. Strong sales were noted particularly in mineral fuels and oils, which grew by 20%, and fertilizers, which saw a significant rise of 31.3%.

Examining the broader picture from January to November, Lithuania's trade deficit reached €5.944 billion, up from €3.967 billion during the same timeframe the previous year. During this period, exports declined by 0.8%, while imports increased by 4.4%. Notably, imports from several countries surged: Poland by 2.9%, Germany by 8.1%, Latvia by 7.9%, China by a substantial 20.4%, and the Netherlands by 7.7%. Simultaneously, exports to the Netherlands and the United States decreased by 3.4% and 4.6%, respectively.
