In the second quarter of 2025, Croatia's economy experienced a year-on-year growth of 3.4%, an improvement from the 2.9% increase recorded in the first quarter. This uptick can be attributed to a robust rise in household consumption, which climbed by 4.0% compared to the previous 1.7%. Additionally, there was a considerable increase in gross fixed capital formation, growing by 5.2% up from 4.5%, alongside sustained government expenditure, which, although at a lower rate, showed a progression from 2.4% in comparison to the previous 5.8%. On the international front, the growth rates of exports and imports slowed, with exports rising by 1.6% compared to the prior 6.0%, and imports increasing by 3.3% following an 8.8% rise. This suggests a moderation in the momentum of foreign trade. When viewed on a seasonally adjusted quarterly basis, the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) increased by 1.2% in the second quarter, marking an acceleration from the 0.4% growth observed in the earlier quarter.
